Now that The Complete Bag Making Masterclass is beginning to drop into your mailboxes, we’re delighted to be able to share with you the details of some of the designs with our Project Spotlights! (We know some of you are still eagerly awaiting the postie; hopefully our Spotlights will get your imaginations all fired up ready to create!)
Introducing The Interchange Crossbody Backpack
If you’ve been following us for a while, then you already know how much we love a convertible bag! The Interchange Crossbody Backpack is a lovely roomy bag that converts easily between a crossbody or shoulder bag and a backpack by clipping the strap to different rings on the back. It has a good sized flap, perfect for showing off a feature print, and inside has lots of space to carry your bits and bobs, as well as a hidden back pocket under the flap!
The project guides you through how to add a zip pocket and a slip pocket to The Interchange, but one of the great things about the Masterclass is that you can use the Techniques sections to customise any project. Fancy more pockets? Different pockets? Switch them out to fit your style!
The gorgeous Interchange Crossbody Backpack in this blog was made by our wonderful tester, Katie! We can definitely imagine this fab Interchange Bag being a hit at school or college, the office, or on days out! We’ll be sharing more inspirational ideas from our testers here and on our social media over the next while, so keep your eyes peeled!

FAQ:
Will The Interchange Crossbody Backpack be released as a separate sewing pattern?
No. The Interchange Bag will not be released as a standalone pattern. The projects section of The Complete Bag Making Masterclass refers back to the techniques sections of the book, so you will need a copy of the book in order to sew this pattern. If you’d like to sew your own Interchange Crossbody Backpack, grab a copy of The Complete Bag Making Masterclass from your local sewing supplies store, from Amazon, or direct from us here at: The Complete Bag Making Masterclass
